Your celebration is more than just an event for you. Occasions by Cheryl is more than just a catering business for us. The owners of Occasions by Cheryl are a husband and wife catering team. Whether your event is in Annapolis, Washington DC, Baltimore or anywhere in the Maryland and Northern Virginia area, we will make the event a special one for you and your family and friends through our catering expertise.

Cheryl Lewis, the premier wedding consultant and event planner in the Annapolis area has developed her catering expertise from over 20 years in the catering business. Getting her start as a waitress as a teenager and continued her love in customer service through catering; while learning food and table aesthetics. She learned through hands-on and hard work, thereby honing her skills in food presentation and catering event planning. Her specialty has become weddings, working with brides and their families making the planning exciting; ensuing a wedding day full of beautiful memories. Her thoroughness in every detail in planning an event is what has built her reputation with her clients and accolades from her staff, vendors and fellow caterers alike.

Willie Lewis, R,D., the Executive Chef and resident Registered Dietitian has an extensive background in the catering and restaurant business as well as nutrition. His academic culinary training is from the renowned CULINARY INSTITUTE OF AMERICA (the other CIA) , Hyde Park N.Y. and nutrition education is from the University of Maryland where he received his BS degree in dietetics, and Howard University where he advanced his studies in nutrition. He got his start at Dockside Restaurant, now Griffin's Restaurant downtown Annapolis as a busboy. He worked his way through the ranks where he became chef.  From there he has stayed in the kitchen as an Executive Chef while at the same time working as a consultant in developing new restaurants while continuing his education in the science of food.
